Elecular User Manual

This page explains the fundamental concepts and benefits of A/B testing. If you are already familiar with A/B testing and its benefits, you can start the QuickStart tutorial.

What is A/B Testing?

An A/B test involves running an experiment by releasing two or more variations of your game and determining which one is better. These variations might have slight changes such as different button colors, or they might have completely new features. This depends on what you want to test. Once they are released, you will be able to track each variation and choose the variation with best player retention, revenue, engagement, etc. Follow this QuickStart tutorial and get your first experiment up and running within 30 minutes!

Why Is It Important?

A/B testing is widely used in the industry for increasing conversion rates and to avoid releasing content that might reduce retention and drive away users. This technique is very powerful because it allows you to deeply understand your players and deliver content based on that.

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

CRO is a process of increasing the percentage of users that perform a desired lead such as an ad click, microtransaction, or subscription. This process involves identifying potential problems in your game that lead to a lower conversion rate, coming up with a hypothesis to fix them, and using A/B tests to confirm it. It is important to realize that CRO is a continuous loop of identifying and fixing until you reach your goal.

Enhanced User Experience And Gameplay

Releasing new features and game mechanics comes with many risks. Without proper A/B testing, you might be releasing features that are reducing retention rates and driving away players. Elecular allows you to roll out new features to a small portion of your players and see how they react to it. If your player retention goes up, that is a good sign! If it goes down, maybe you should reconsider the design. This technique enables you to only release features that are fun and engaging to your players!
